4 Paw Friend is a dog walking service covering Battersea, Battersea Park and the streets around Battersea Power Station. We collect your dog from your home, take them out for a proper walk, and bring them back.
Most of the homes we collect from around Battersea and the Power Station are flats. That is the whole reason this service exists here: no garden, no back door, and a dog who still needs to run.

Battersea has changed more in the last ten years than anywhere else we cover. The Power Station development and the blocks along Battersea Park Road are dense, largely new-build and largely apartments. A dog living there has no private outdoor space of their own, and a lift and a lobby between them and the pavement.
If you are out at work, that is a long stretch for a dog with nowhere to go. A quick trip round the block before and after work is not the same as being let off the lead somewhere open.
We collect from your building, drive your dog to a suitable walking location with real space, and bring them home afterwards.
How collection works from flats and apartment buildings
Every service is door to door. A walker comes to you, collects your dog and transports them safely to the walk, then returns them home the same day.
You do not need to be at home. Many of our Battersea clients leave a key with us, and we are fully insured for key holding. If your building has its own access arrangements, tell us at the meet and greet and we will work with whatever is already in place.
Where your dog is walked
We collect from across Battersea and transport dogs to suitable walking locations with genuine open space, including Lambeth parks where we hold a professional dog walking licence permitting off-lead walking, with a maximum of six dogs off lead at any one time.
Your collection address does not need to be in Lambeth. Where you live and where your dog is walked are two different things, and the travelling is our job, not yours.

We collect from the residential buildings in and around the Battersea Power Station development. It is one of the densest concentrations of flat-dwelling dog owners in South London, and almost none of those homes have a garden.
Battersea and Battersea Park
We collect from across Battersea, including the streets around Battersea Park. If you live near the park but want your dog properly exercised while you are at work, we can collect and walk them during the day rather than you fitting it around your commute.
Midday walks for people who work away from home
The most common request we get from this part of South London is a walk in the middle of the day, for owners who leave early and get back late. A midday walk breaks up the day and gets your dog out of the flat.
Group walks or solo walks?
Group walks suit sociable dogs. Solo walks suit dogs who are nervous, reactive, elderly, recovering from injury, or who simply do better on their own.
For flat-living dogs who do not meet many other dogs day to day, a small group can be genuinely good for them. But no dog joins a group without a meet and greet first, and if yours is not suited to it we will say so and offer solo walks instead.
Puppies and first-time owners
A lot of dogs in new-build developments are first dogs, and a lot of them are puppies. For a puppy not yet ready for a full walk, home visits cover feeding, toilet breaks, company and check-ins during the day.
Nervous and reactive dogs start solo. Some join a small group later, and some never do, which is a perfectly good outcome.

Outdoor daycare in Battersea

Battersea splits into two daycare populations that want completely different things. The new-build half – the Power Station blocks, Battersea Park Road and the towers along the river – is flats with no garden, a lift, a concierge and frequently an owner on long or unpredictable hours. For those dogs a full day out is not a luxury, it is the only way they get a reasonable amount of time outside a lift lobby. They also tend to be young dogs, often first dogs, often bought during or just after the move into the flat.
The older Battersea around Latchmere Road and the streets towards Clapham Junction is Victorian terraces, more houses and more gardens. Those dogs usually need company and proper exercise rather than relief, and a long walk often serves them better than a full day. We will say so. That side of SW11 runs from Lavender Hill and St John’s Hill up to Battersea Rise and the streets off Northcote Road, and we collect there on the same morning round as Clapham Junction station. Collection in the new-build half is the demanding part. Every block has its own arrangement – concierge desk, fob, service lift, a loading bay with a time limit – and getting it wrong costs ten minutes a dog, so we agree it in writing at the meet and greet and keep the same walker on the same building wherever we can. Battersea Park being on the doorstep also means a shorter journey than almost anywhere, which matters for dogs who find the van itself stressful.
