No dog joins a group without a meet and greet first. If your dog turns out not to suit group walking, we will tell you honestly and offer solo walks instead.
Puppies and nervous dogs
We take puppies, and we take dogs who find the world difficult. For puppies not yet ready for a full walk, home visits cover feeding, toilet breaks, company and check-ins.
Nervous and reactive dogs start solo. Some progress to a small group later, and some never do – that is a perfectly good outcome.

Clapham Common, and the postcodes we collect from
Clapham Common is the heart of what we do here. It is 220 acres, and the part of it your dog gets depends on the dog. The open grass either side of Windmill Drive suits the dogs who want to run; the quieter tree-lined stretches towards the bandstand suit the older ones and anyone still building confidence. The three ponds are useful landmarks for arranging where to meet, and a good reason to bring a towel in winter.
We collect across SW4 (Clapham, Clapham Old Town, Clapham North), SW11 (Clapham Junction and towards Battersea), SW12 (Clapham South and the Balham side), and the SW8 and SW9 edges where Clapham runs into Stockwell and Wandsworth Road. Clapham Common is one of the best dog-walking spaces in south London and one of the worst places to try to spend a whole day. Two hundred and twenty acres sounds like a lot until you remember that Windmill Drive cuts straight through the middle of it, the South Side and Long Road carry traffic on two more edges, and the three ponds – Eagle, Mount and Long – draw a crowd from first light. It is a good hour with a lead in your hand. It is not somewhere a group of dogs can be left to settle.
